Hello!

Hello all my fellow bloggers! The Barker Family has come to join you! This is my first attempt at "blogging" so please bear with me as I attempt to navigate my new project :)  For those of you who don't know, we are the Barker's: James, Brandy, Cameron and Jesse.
Here is a little bit about us :)  James and I met through mutual friends in high school. My friend and his friend decided they wanted to get together and hang out and they both thought it would be fun to bring James and I along.  I'll admit, I was being stubborn and wanted nothing to do with their little plan, so they basically set it up like a blind date, without telling me about it!  Needless to say it worked, I never suspected a thing and the next thing I know, I am being introduced to my future husband! We met on Tuesday, March 12, 2002; our senior year of high school.  We attended our proms(in may 2002) as an engaged couple.  We originally planned our wedding for July 2002, but had to put it off because I(being my normal dramatic self) got really sick and ended up requiring surgery, so that put a little damper in our plans.  We finally got things all situated and the wedding took place on December 20, 2003 in the same church where my parents had said their vows.  We bought our first home together in August of 2005, which was great timing, because we found out shortly thereafter that we were expecting our first child in July! Cameron Robert came into the world on July 11, 2006 and we couldn't have been happier! Three and a half years later, on December 21, 2009, Cameron became a big brother when we welcomed Jesse James to the world.  Both boys have brought tons of love, excitement and happiness to our lives and we thank God every day that he blessed us with these two amazing kids!
Our lives are pretty much the same day in and day out...James started working for Cardinal Glass in Tumwater as a glass handler back in 2002.  He has since been promoted (a few different times) and is currently a shift manager at the Cardinal Glass plant in Chehalis.  He thoroughly enjoys his job and the people he works with, guess you can't really ask for much more than that!  I have been working for the State of WA since October 2006.  I work in a very small unit with the most amazing girls ever! They have totally become my besties and I don't how I would make it through work without them! (love you ladies!!*muah*)
We spend a lot of our free time just hanging out with all of our amazing and wonderful friends and family!  We enjoy getting together with everyone, no matter what the reason!  Lots of backyard bbqs, game nights, movies, dinner out, camping, day trips to the zoo etc.  We definitely know how to keep busy :)  So, I guess that is "us" in a nutshell...(and even if it isn't, I need to stop before I write an entire novel!) Hope you enjoy our blog!  Hugs to all and God bless!
